Calmego casting
corporation was founded in 1923 by William Frech.
It was operated on 6th street in Cincinnati at the site of the current
Federal Building. The foundry was moved to the present location in
the 1950's. Williams sons Bill and Dick gradually took over the
business after world war 2. They made aluminum and bronze castings
as well machining and nickel plating.
In 1988 the present
owners bought the business. They focused their efforts on producing
aluminum and bronze castings only. The molding method is green
sand. The new owners installed modern induction melting equipment
and automated molding. The current customers are industrial
manufacturers of mining components, utility components for
transmission lines, specialty light weight electric motors
decorative castings for the memorialization industry as well as
anode hooks for the plating industry
